Overview of Dufour 36

The Dufour 36 Performance yacht a little cruising racer, or is it a racing cruiser? With its exhilarating performance and remarkable comfort, it does not matter what you call it, but you must experience it.

With the now-common twin wheels, large main, and easy-to-handle jib, and hard chines that carry aft from just shy of amidships, this performance sailboat has some pure-racing features. A convenient traveler spans the cockpit forward of the helms and cockpit lockers that double as seats can be lifted out to give trimmers and the helmsman more room to work. Her hull below the waterline is a solid, hand-laid fiberglass-and-polyester laminate with PVC foam-and-glass strata above.

The Dufour 36 offers a traditional and functional layout with expected creature comforts for a hard-working, fun-loving crew. Roomy cabins, full-length settees lining the saloon (that could function as berths), a drop-leaf dining table, and plenty of stowage to keep areas neat and tidy all lend to the feeling of spaciousness on this compact cruiser. Work areas are very functional including a sit-down nav desk and galley featuring double sinks, a large fridge/freezer, and a two-burner propane cooktop and oven.
