Dufour 48 ODSea+: Hybrid Power Meets High-Performance Sailing

If you thought the Dufour 48 couldn’t get any better, think again. The ODSea+ takes everything sailors already love about the classic 48 and adds a healthy dose of forward-thinking tech: a hybrid propulsion system that changes the way you experience the water. Designed by Umberto Felci with interiors by Ardizio Design, this yacht keeps the elegance and performance Dufour is known for and adds a quiet, sustainable system. Glide almost silently through the waves and really connect with the sea. It’s not just about the performance but also about the experience it creates.

Live Aboard in Style

Below deck, the ODSea+ offers familiar Dufour comfort and practicality. Ardizio Design has made every inch count, with three-, four-, or five-cabin layouts and two galley configurations (either along the side or forward by the mast). The saloon’s hexagonal table creates a social hub, and the clever layout and large windows flood the interior with light. Whether you’re cruising privately or chartering, the ODSea+ blends quiet, sustainable power with a thoughtful design while never compromising on sailing performance; it’s a yacht built with the future in mind.

Smart Power, Sustainable Sailing

You no longer have to rely solely on diesel. The ODSea+ runs on a 25 kW electric motor powered by a 400-volt battery pack, available in 27 or 32 kWh, paired with a 14 kW diesel generator. Add a 1.5 kW hydrogenerator while under sail and 1,300 watts from solar panels on the T-top, and you’ve got a boat that can generate and manage its own clean energy. All of it is seamlessly monitored through Dufour’s Black Box interface, with panels at the helm and below deck. Power management has never felt this intuitive.

Performance That Doesn’t Compromise

Hybrid tech is impressive, but the ODSea+ is first and foremost a high-performance sailing yacht. Felci’s hull design delivers speed, balance, and responsiveness that make every tack feel instinctive. During testing, she powered up to 7.8 knots close-hauled at 36°, and touched nearly 10 knots downwind with the gennaker flying. What’s more, the hybrid system keeps the yacht going for hours without the need to use the generator. With the hydrogenerator and solar panels feeding power consistently, sustainable sailing doesn’t mean sacrificing performance.
