Jeanneau’s new Sun Odyssey 455 sailing yacht, unveiled in late 2025, now joins the shipyard’s long line of successful performance cruisers. Replacing the popular Sun Odyssey 440 and 490, the new 455 has big shoes to fill. While slightly smaller on paper than the 490, this 46-footer does a remarkable job of maximizing the layouts to feel every bit as spacious as her bigger sister, yet easier to handle. Jeanneau has taken what worked so well in earlier models and refined it by paying attention to ergonomics, adding more storage, and making life aboard more fluid. It’s a great yacht, whether you’re island-hopping or crossing blue water.

Designed With the Confidence of Jeanneau Engineering

Under sail, the Sun Odyssey 455 monohull feels light on the helm yet steady, thanks to a new high-performance hull combined with an emphasis on balance. The Sun Odyssey 455 specifications come standard with a 57-horsepower Yanmar, though skippers looking for extra power can opt for an 80 HP upgrade, a welcome novelty in this size range. There’s plenty of storage for long passages, and the walkaround deck layout has become a signature feature of the Jeanneau range, which creates an unmatched flow of movement. You might find yourself coastal cruising or stretching your legs across open water. Either way, the 455 delivers predictable, easygoing performance that Jeanneau owners have come to expect.

An Interior Built for Sharing Moments At Sea

Below deck, the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 455 interior blends modern style with a practical layout that works beautifully at sea. Designed by Jean-Marc Piaton, the Sun Odyssey 455 layout offers either three or four cabins, depending on your needs, so you can pick between an Owner’s Version for private cruising or a Charter Version optimized for guests. The salon invites you to enjoy a bright and open space that combines the galley and dining area for a highly social environment. The table comfortably seats up to ten people, and the galley offers lots of storage and smart features for easy movement underway. Jeanneau has put real thought into the details: the Owner’s Version comes with an ergonomic nav station with a convertible seat, while the Charter Version replaces that with a well-placed refrigerator and extra storage. There’s also a large closet that can serve as a pantry or laundry space. The Owner’s cabin has a semi-walkaround berth and overhead skylights for an airy, relaxed vibe. The four-cabin version, meanwhile, delivers impressive space and four heads, ideal for charter operations or larger families.

Practical and Generous Deck Space

Aft, the Sun Odyssey 455 exterior continues to impress, starting with a swim platform that provides effortless access to the water. With a 4.5-meter beam, the twin helm stations are wide enough to seat two people each, and the visibility from either side is excellent. Jeanneau’s trademark walkaround sidedecks make movement so easy, even when underway. The cockpit is another Jeanneau signature with two tables featuring built-in cupholders, each surrounded by wraparound seating that has extra storage underneath. The cockpit can seat up to 10, and the tables fold neatly to open up deck space to access the couch behind it. Forward, the sail locker and anchor locker are both generous, with the option to convert the former into a forepeak cabin, a great choice for the charter market.
