The Jeanneau 490 boasts the popular “walkaround deck”, with side decks sloping gently down into the cockpit for unprecedented safety and ease of movement – an innovation that helped it to win Cruising World’s “Boat of the Year Award”.

With exceptional stability, high-performance capabilities, and unwavering safety, the SO 490 is a competent bluewater cruiser. Its responsive helm and easy handling make it a joy to command, while the convenient aft bow thruster ensures precision maneuverability in port.

Optimized onboard living

Outfitted with Seanapps mobile app technology, enjoy convenient monitoring of the yacht’s information on your smartphone, including tank levels, maintenance scheduling, and more.

Lounging and ultimate comfort are optimized topside aboard the Sun Odyssey 490. From the forward deck to the wide cockpit, there is no shortage of lounging and dining space that perfectly accommodates entertaining a larger crew.

Relaxation is further enhanced with cockpit seating that converts to a massive lounging sunbed where guests are sure to congregate. Swimming and water sports are assisted by the large stern swim platform that folds down with the push of a button.

Comfort reigns below decks, thanks in part to a new hull design that added even more volume to yachts of the Sun Odyssey line. The open concept main salon is flooded in natural light from the multiple rows of windows and hatches. The U-shaped galley is strategically placed to minimize motion while underway, and the nav station with large chart table and bench can easily serve double-duty as an onboard home office.

The Sun Odyssey 490 truly sets itself apart with the expansive forward master suite featuring a square queen bed, dressing area, and separate shower stall with impressive 6’-6” headroom.

The Sun Odyssey 490 monohull is available in 4 efficient layouts to suit your cruising needs: 2-cabins/2-heads, 3-cabins/2-heads, 4-cabins/4-heads, or 5-cabins/3-heads.
